Assam Engineering College has been one of the supreme institutions governing the discipline of technical education since its establishment in 1955. With a strength of about 2000 students Assam Engineering College proudly proclaims its student fraternity who have exhibited their excellence in various technical and socio-cultural platforms.
Assam Engineering College Students Union carries forward the vision of empowering its students in all possible ways to strengthen the discipline of engineering along with an all round exposure to different extra curricular activities. Driving this youth force we have been institutional in serving the society as well whether it be through donations in slums, skill development in orphanages or by organising blood donation and health awareness camps. We aim to create a sustainable campus environment incorporating the elements of togetherness and unity.
Representing the entire student community, I along with my whole team take the vows to work for the betterment of student community initiating new dimensions for Assam Engineering College. It is our dream to nurture and pursue the legacy of 1st Engineering college of North East and establish our hold in leading the nation through technical and social reforms. Finally, I would like to urge the whole student fraternity to march ahead boldly utilising the potential resources available so that we can contribute in the best possible way for the development of our college.

It is a great honour getting elected to serve as the Social Welfare Secretary of the first engineering college of the entire northeastern region. The pride of this esteemed institute is growing every year and AEC owes a lot to its excellent alumni in various disciplines of the society all around the globe for such reputation. Be it the core engineering, research, and teaching, or administrative and social sectors, our alumni have excelled in each and every field. They really have made us proud!
True to its motto “Service before Self” Assam Engineering College is always considered one of the state’s most socially responsible institute. We organize annual blood donation camp, visit various shelter home of less privileged children of the society and teach them various skills and also encourage them to do something big out of their life. “Daan Utsav” which is considered as India’s ‘festival of giving’ is organized in a grand way by the college.
AEC have got many clubs and cells of various spheres and each of them has their own legacy and every club work with the utmost dedication for enabling the college and the society to get the maximum advantage. Alumni owes a lot to these clubs for developing various technical skills and leadership attributes which they acquire by actively participating and organizing various events all through their college years.So being part of these clubs,one can find camaraderie among peers who share your same interests. You have the opportunity to meet new people and gain valuable life skills through hundreds of active campus organizations and countless volunteer opportunities, as well as other social, cultural, and recreational co-curricular activities.
Assam Engineering College being situated amidst nature and campus being free from any kind city buzz makes the environment perfect to do any sort of activities. Moreover, because of various events and activities which happens in the college as well at respective hostels round the year along with such pleasant environment, AEC act as the perfect blend for spending the best four years of one's life. For the first yearities, I hope you will actively consider the possibilities the campus presents.
