Hostels Life
Hostels of Assam Engineering College for over half a century have been providing force and fuel to the life and motion of College’s liberal, innovative academic culture. From the day of their establishment, they have been "a home away from home" for a generation of engineers. Though students can choose to be day-scholars, campus living encourages independence and helps students with the ability to adapt. Most of them have even celebrated their Golden Jubilee to mark 50 years of their glorious existence.

Housing & Dining
The college canteen is a spacious food joint newly constructed for the purpose of serving wholesome, nutritious food to the AECians. The canteen is situated near the Main Building and remains open from 7.00 A.M. to 7.00 P.M. on all working days. A wide variety of Indian snacks and dishes are available. During lunch time, meals are available at very reasonable prices. A Cafeteria is also facilitated at the New Assam Type Building. The canteen besides being hygienic also provides swift service. It is frequented perhaps more by the hostellers looking for a change from hostel grub than the occasional visitor. The ever-busy canteen bustling with inquisitive minds is a recreational -cum-hangout place for the members of AEC family.
Student Activity Center (SAC)
SAC or Students Activity Centre are Clubs which are affiliated to provide a platform to every student to follow their hobbies and passion throughout their stay in this institute. These have an objective to make a student pursue his passion and interest and enable the students to be active in activities and garner confidence and various skills while honing their crafts and interests.

Ragging free campus
Antiragging Commitee
We all have united, and have always stood by the anti-ragging policies and we feel and believe that the ragging culture is a shame for not only for the college but also for the society. Hence, to hold this strong opposition, we form anti ragging committees every year along with the faculty and students to ensure that ragging in no means, verbal or physical takes place in the college. There are anti ragging committees both differently for the college and the hostels to ensure strict vigilance and monitoring of the students.

The Library
Assam Engineering College Library came into existence along with the foundation of the college in 1955. It bolsters the teaching, research and extension programs of the Institute. All students, faculty members of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking library membership. There is a well-stocked Reading Room, which subscribes to a large number of dailies, weeklies, periodicals and journals on a variety of subjects. The Library, besides having a huge collection of books on engineering, science, management and humanities, serves as a resource center and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for faculty and students of the institute and provides an efficient dissemination of knowledge.

The Computer Center
Central Computing Centre (CCC) is a central facility, established in Assam Engineering College which caters to the needs of academic departments and various sections of the institute. CCC is instituted in a separate building. Centre has one of the envying infrastructures in the region in terms of computing facilities, Internet facilities and Campus-wide Networking. Centre is well equipped with the latest machines. It provides Internet facilities to the users in the CCC, all Departments, Library, faculty rooms and Administrative office. The same facility has also been extended to all the hostels. Each member of the institute is provided with a unique log-in ID to make the best use of the facility.
Health Care
To achieve holistic growth and development of the students and staff, a well equipped infirmary on campus is instituted to extend warm medical care. The fully-functional AEC Hospital is well-appointed with residential doctor and staff. Each member of the institute is entitled to basic health-care amenities available in the hospital. It provides indoor and outdoor medical facilities for common ailments. Complicated cases, though are referred for treatment to civic hospitals in the city.

Multi Desciplinary Centre
MDC i.e the Multidisciplinary Center of Assam Engineering College is a well-equipped edifice which aims at establishing cordial relationships with industries of repute as it plays host to the Training and Placement Cell (TPC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of AEC. It comprises with a host of seminar and conference halls with modern communication aids. Along with the mentioned cells it also plays host to the Language Lab under the Department of Humanities which helps in acquainting students with various languages used across the globe.

The Athletics
Athletics is a major growing sector in the country, and so it also doesn’t go neglected in the college. During the evening and the morning time, we can see a groups and groups of athletes running around the area with proper dress code, to enhance their fitness. Moreover, the college arranges sports events during college week, pyrokinesis, fresher’s and also in around the year to promote this spirit amongst all the students, with no partiality is done with the girls.
The Gymnasium
With hitting the gym becoming increasingly popular among the today’s youths, to stay fit, hence for the Aecians, the AEC GYM also cannot lag behind. This gym is open to both boys and girls with different timing of usage, as it is equipped with latest workout instruments to boast about. So if you are anyways worried about your weight or body you can step into this gym and workout with advice from proper trainers.
The Parade
The parade is one of the most eye catchy and exquisite sight in AEC, which marks the end of the AEC college week. It is solely held during the foundation day of the college which is just the day prior to the republic day of India i.e. 25th January of every year. It is the clash of the titans as all the hostels battle against each other after long grails of practice to prove the best parade in all. The parade, here is not only considered a symbol of respect but also of pride and honor. Long Live AEC.

The Pyrokinesis
The Carnival for every AECian , Pyrokinesis , The Annual Cultural Festival of Assam Engineering College , brings upon a multitude of hues , colours and essence of creativity in a 3 day long festival with much fanfare. Pyrokinesis is often a cornerstone of remembrance of how the years passed in this institute will serve dollops of nostalgia in due course of future. Pyrokinesis brings out the innate desires , qualities and zeal in each and every AECian and this experience is unadulterated and unforgettable.

The Udbhavanam
The Annual Technical festival , aptly named Udbhavanam caters to the buzzing engineering students to play their knowledge to know , build or create something worthwhile with significant contribution towards to society. It boasts of different workshops , events and competition to bring forward the knowledge and application of it towards fruitful goals. Udbhavanam runs parallel to Pyrokinesis.
The College Week
The lifeline of every AECian , a platform to prove oneself to the best of capacities. From Bihu to Basketball , competitions incubate a spirit of competitiveness among the AEcians and also showcase a spectacle to the audience of how AEC is rich with talent and grit among the various hostels and day scholar teams. College week starts in even semester by the beginning of January.
