AEC Media Cell, in collaboration with the Humanities Department, Assam Engineering College, and Astitva Samvardhan Foundation, conducted a three-day flood relief outreach initiative to extend support to flood-affected communities.

 

The initiative was led by Professor-in-Charge Mridusmita Goswami, President Krishanu Kashyap Sarmah, and Media & PR Head Mridusmita Dutta, AEC Media Cell 2025–26, along with Secretary of Astitva Samvardhan Foundation Rishad Zia.

 

The first day covered Khanikar Gaon, Laxmi Jan, Betoni, Bhadhora, and Tamuli Pukhuri, where the team interacted with residents and extended relief assistance to families affected by the floods.

 

The outreach continued on the second day across Kawoimari Chinatoli Gaon, Bokota 1 No. Konwar Gaon, Betbari, Doh Gaon, and Npam Gaon, expanding the relief effort to additional affected communities.

 

On the third day, the team visited Kawoimari Chinatoli Gaon (Teok), Khanikar Gaon, Laxmi Jan, Gelaky (Nazira), Do Gaon, Betoni, Npam Gaon, Tamuli Pukhuri, and Bhadhora, continuing relief distribution and direct engagement with affected residents.

 

The three-day initiative highlighted the importance of collective action, compassion, and social responsibility during times of crisis. Beyond providing relief, the outreach served as a reminder that meaningful change begins when individuals and organisations come together to support those in need.

Natural calamities can leave communities vulnerable and uncertain, and in such moments, even a small contribution of time, resources, or effort can make a significant difference. The initiative therefore encourages students, institutions, organisations, and members of society to come together, extend a helping hand, and stand in solidarity with affected communities whenever such situations arise.
